Old Vanity!

My vanity desk/mirror/whateveryoucallitinenglish! This is the first piece of furniture I bought (about two years ago)! It's at least 150 years old and I think it's absolutely amazing.
I got it as a complete set with this night stand with original marble top, and a little padded stool that I refurbished myself. I placed the new gold brokade fabric ontop of the other, so I didn't remove anything. :)

I'm planning on repainting it all sometime... I want a better looking goldpaint... I just love the mix of gold and cream!
I really, really love antiques! I love to imagine the amount of different people who have reflected themselves in the mirror, how many who have touched the surfaces. And the handcrafted quality! I like to think about who created it. I love the spirit and soul of antiques. I'm definitely a collector!
Awhile ago I found this beautiful antique brush and comb set in silver and natural hair, the comb is plastic though. They have super pretty rose details! I have always wanted a set like this, so I was so happy when I found it with the original box at a local christmas flea market.
The last thing is this little old hand mirror. I have no idea if it's anything worth but I don't care. It was my grandmothers which she got from a few generations back, so I know it's quite old. But it has a huge sentimental value to me! ^_____^ I was very close to her when she was alive. I miss her.

"Beauty for sale"

... Is the title of a new book I bought in danish. The original title is "Skønhed til salg" by Lone Kühlmann and it's about beauty through history. It covers all the different categories and it is quite amusing and has quite a bit of irony. It was on sale so I just had to get it!!! >^____^<

... And I just love the old ads and illustrations! Quite amazing I think. :)

Length shot!

March 2013, a bit late I know. Im writing this on my moms computer, my own is dying on me...

Two months ago I wasn't quite sure whether or not I should keep maintaining to improve my hemline. But I think it looks decent enough to grow on. I'm so tired of this length on me, it looks quite unflattering on me I think. And it's very hard to see in this picture but the dyed part of my hair is now at waist. So even if it doesn't feel like it I did have a nice bit of growth this year. Exactly one year ago the dyed part was at about armpit length. :)

I splurged!

... In all kinds of hair products! Several years ago I bought a ton of leave-in's and finally I've used them all up! So I was out looking for a new leave-in because I can't live without it, and I was horrified to discover that the stores in my area doesn't sell ANY leave-in's anymore... They only sell fancy hair oils, I mean DA FUCK!?? I have oils already! I want my cones!!! :( ... I knew that oils for hair is the "new" big thing, but to completely stop carrying leave-in's, I'm just... Just speechless! *________*
I guess I'll have to go online to get some nice, good old, coney leave-in.

... But when that's said I did find something!
First one is the 'Aussie Dual Personality Anti Frizz + Conditioning Milk'. It does contain cones and I kinda like the scent but it was quite pricey and it doesn't do anything for my hair, so I definitely won't repurchase this product. I'm quite disappointed because I really like the Aussie deep conditioners... Meh... (Only one cone, Dimethicone.)

The other one is 'Gliss Hair Repair With Liquid Keratin Leave-in Spray'. I've heard a lot of rave about products containing keratin but I haven't felt curious to try it out. But since the Aussie didn't help detangling I wanted something that would. And the only product besides the "super-miracle-hair-oils-blah-blah" was this one by Gliss. Some years ago I tried a few Gliss products but my skin had a bad reaction so I haven't really been tempted to buy their products since. But as an act of complete desperation I bought it, as you already know. But to my surprise I really, really like it! I don't know if it's the keratin or the cones but my hair LOVES it! And I love the scent. :D  I will totally buy this again! (Cyclomethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone and good old Dimethicone.)

So... The other day I bought more products from Gliss(on sale). They are both with keratin. I can't wait to try them. I think the smell is a little sickening sweet, but if my hair likes it I don't really mind. :)

These Wella Pro Series conditioners were also on sale and I just love the smell of Wella products. I was in a shopping mood so I bought them. :P Looking forward to try these too.

I've heard so much good stuff about Garnier Fructis so I bought these two conditioners for CO'ing. I like the scent. :) It's gonna be a nice change form my trusty old Vo5!

I already have some in black but they don't have have balls on the ends like these do. :)

I'm taking another type of food supplement. I think I'm gonna do an entire entry about my food supplements, because it's complicated. About vitamin C it should be really good for people with my illness so I finally bought some. I believe that to some extend the body tells you what you need, and I've always been obsessed about things that contain vitamin C. And learning about the possitive effects it has on people with EDS I just wanted to try it out. :)

I hope you enjoyed my ramble. ^_^

New paintings!

The first one: 'Blood, Wood & Smoke.'

The next one: 'Murderess'

Also, for Christmas I made these festive decorations with clay as a base and a candle, some spruce, a few pine cones and then throw some glitter on it... Yeah, it's a small danish tradition, and it gets me in the holiday spirit. Anyways, I had some clay leftovers and I've always wanted a decorative skull for my appartment. Yeah... Well the clay is a super cheap kind, and I needed just a bit more than I had. So It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to, I would have liked to get it more realistic looking. I just recently got around to paint it (in it's natural dry state it has a greenish gray colour). I hope you like it!

And with some round sunnies on! ^_____^

I will say that it looks way better irl. I'm so annoyed with how the iphone's camera kind of distorts the proportions. The eyesockets and nasal cavity looks smaller irl... On the second picture you can see where I would have liked to have a bit more clay to work with. It lacks a bit of forehead, ha ha, I made a stupid skull. XD The clay also dried really, really fast and water didn't help so I didn't have a lot of time.

Please tell me what you think! ^___^ I can take it.

Dainty jewelry!

When it comes to jewelry I'm pretty picky. But a trend I've been really into is dainty jewelry. I just can't get enough, it's so pretty and feminine...
A few pics of what I would really like to own:

HENNA! (Yes, it's a scary word.)

... For so many reasons... When you say henna here in Denmark, most people think of old women with an orange halo of a frizz ball. Think Johnny Depp as the mad hatter. Yeah...

Well on to my results(I did it on febuary the 28th):

Excuce that my hair isn't completely dry. These first pictures was about two days after application.

This was after another few days, straight. The colour has oxidized. Now over a month later, the red has faded a bit (as first time henna applications usually do) but that doesn't bother me at all. I also did my roots for the first time 5 days ago, and I actually liked it. I thought I would hate it, but I love it. :D When I did my roots, instead of doing a full henna mix like my full length application, I did a mix of 45% henna/55% cassia. I might even go weaker. I'm still thinking about lightning my hair with honey. I don't want less red, I would just like it to be maybe a few shades lighter. BTW my roots weren't at all obvious which, as a lazy person, I love.

The last one is four year old me. Since then my natural hair colour has only darkened a bit. :)
