Burgundy!

I've been feeling ill again but I'm doing a bit better now. I wanna blog about a ton of stuff, but I'm starting with my obsession with burgundy! I have never really liked the colour before but in spring/early summer, something happened and now I can't stop! I feel like it's more appropriate for this season, even though I don't really care for fashion rules like that. And the main reason is that it took me some time to collect some burgundy items.
The first thing is an Essie nail polish in 'Bahama Mama' which I got as a present from my best friend. I love the colour and I'm actually wearing it right now. But I have to say I don't really get the hype about Essie... I mean the colours are gorgeous and the names are cute, but I find them difficult to apply. It looks patchy and it seems like it never dries, and I've been wearing so much nail polish though the last five years.... I don't know if it's just me. :( (The frind I got it from has a few Essies and it looks the same on her nails...) (And a little update: It didn't even last one day, with my best topcoat and I was so carefull... Man!)
The next thing is a flower crown I did myself. I really like Lana Del Rey and especially her use of flowers. So I had to make one!
I don't know why it looks so red, but oh well, the sun was really shining when I took this pic. Since I discovered clothesencounters (a loooong time ago) on youtube I've been obsessed with beanies, but as always I'm too cheap (and broke, haha) to buy it! So I knit them instead. That way I can also choose the material and colour. ^___^ I thought it was a fun little detail with the black top.
I bought this super oversize heavy knit in the summer on a shopping spree. It's longer in the back and has a bit of a batwing effect. It was quite cheap so I bought it in cream too! :p
Then of course the lip! In early summer I picked up a burgundy lip pencil which I just use as a lipstick. In this picture I just tried something new, an ombre lip. I like wearing this lip with my flower crown. It looks so good together.
This is a turtleneck I've had for so long... I don't really recall where I got it from. And I've never actually worn it so I don't know why I still have it, because I'm super organised. But I'm so glad I didn't toss it. I'm gonna wear this so much! :)
And the last thing for now is this eye make up. I have this really old blush (the bright warm orangy colour on the middle of my lid) which is way way too much for me as a blush. It's impossible to apply a little, it's insane. But I absolutely love it as an eye shadow. And it really brings out the green in my eyes. Which I love! ^-^

Thrift haul!

I was thrifting curtains and ended up with a bit more! XD
First I found this amazing button down. It has a matching pleated skirt, which I had to buy too if I wanted the top. I guess I can use the skirt somehow. :)
Then I found this. I love the color and the fabric looks like real silk. And I think the double collar is a fun different detail.
I'm really glad I found this red button down with a bow. I love red but I don't really have a lot of red things. Can't wait to wear it!
And for my favorite piece!...........
I freakin' love this! It's so pretty. I love the colour, the detail, the buttons.... Everything!
And a few more pics, just to show all the details. :D
On saturday I'm going to a family function, and I'm totally gonna wear this with a black maxi skirt, a soft romantic hairstyle and some edgy accessories!

"New" paintings!

Well some of them are not that recent, but I just wanted to share anyways. :D
The first one is called "Spaced Out".
The second one is called "Universal Beauty" and the titel is not literal. It's about a slightly mad empress of space. Her skinny frame is ment to portray her fragile mind, as well as her actual figure. I wanted her to look scary but vulnerable. She's wearing space as her dress, but with a childlike care.

The next one is called "Overshadowed".
The last one is called "Female Assassin" The reflection of light in her eye is a tiny skull.

That is it for now, I hope you like it! ^______^

Floral dress & casual maxi skirts.

So, I have been sewing some more!
I was out buying fabric and I found this beautiful print! It's jersey and feels amazing. It's a bit difficult to see, but it's really fitted with ruching in the middle of the chest, and on the sides. It has an exposed zipper in the back and the straps are black wide bands. I feel stupid that I forgot to take a photo of the straps but oh well. As you can see it's really long, but I think it looks great. I love floral prints but they can very easily become too girly for my taste, so I really like the black. I would style this dress with a casual cropped knit, black lipstick and some nice chunky heels a la Jeffrey Campbell.

My most worn stable is the maxi skirt. It's sort of my signature. I sew them myself because I can never find ones I like and if I do find a skirt I like it's very very pricy! The plain black one on the left is the one I wear the most. I've made several just like that. The one in the middle is just because I fell in love with the fabrick! The colour is so pretty and the little bows an tiny dots are freaking adorable! The one on the right is a fail that I "fixed". I messed up the waist so I did a braid with the leftovers and made it into a cool piece. I quite like it! ^_______^

More Blue.

I have been quite obsessed with lighter shades of blue and violette. I think it's because of grav3yardgirl. I've been watching her so much for the last six months. I'm also wearing false eyelashes to update the look. I think that these pretty colours can very easily become very 80's, and I think that the falsies counteract this. These pair are actually not longer than my natural lashes but they do give a lot of extra volume. I love this look and I think it looks fresh and pretty!

More fashion projects!

Some years ago I saw this amazing long sleeved, navy striped, T-dress by Stella McCartney. I have never been able to forget about it... So now I finally did something about it and made something similar by my self! :]
I bought this navy striped t-shirt a long time ago, but now I decided to go for it and paint on some pretty flowers! I used my acrylic paints because in my experience it doesn't wash off fabric very easily when completely dry. I'm pretty happy with the result. (But I have to say, just like with my paintings, some of the detail gets lost using my phone camera.)

The same night I also did a cute red skirt with an exposed zipper in the back.
The hem and the zipper are both hand sewn because I just think it looks better. And when the hem is sewn by hand, it's almost invisible which is the look I prefer. The job with the zipper isn't fantastic, but in my defence I was feeling quite ill and I couldn't sleep, so I didn't that night.
I love the skirt and I think it looks quite cute with the t-shirt from above.
